Not sure what you need?
Email acedrum@gmail.com or DM me on Instagram at @acedrum and ask me.

You can already play, but something still isn't right.

Maybe your recordings sound flat, your double kick falls apart past a certain tempo, or your fills keep rushing.

You've probably watched hours of YouTube tutorials and tried every tip in the comments, and you're still stuck.

The problem is nobody has actually watched you play.

That's what a lesson is for.

How it works

01

Tell me what you're stuck on

Send a recording, video or quick description before we meet so I can come prepared.

02

We meet on Google Meet

You play while I watch and listen, and we work through it in real time on your own kit.

03

Leave with one clear fix

Every session focuses on one or two main takeaways, not a list of things you'll forget in a few days.

What we can work on

Recording and production

●  Tuning your kit for recording
●  Mic setup and placement
●  Getting a punchy sound in a small room
●  Computer and audio gear setup
●  Editing and mixing drums in your DAW
●  Making drum videos for social media

Playing

●  Double kick speed and control
●  Blast beats, D-beats and skank beats
●  Moving between beats and fills
●  Tightening your timing to a click
●  Practising efficiently when time is short
●  Preparing for a recording session or gig

Who you're learning from

I'm Adrian Griffin, drummer in Lo! and Burial Pit and formerly 28 Days, and I've toured and recorded in Australia and overseas.

I've played session drums for No Apologies, Slowly Building Weapons, Sumeru, Truth Corroded, Daemon Pyre and many other bands and remote recording projects.
I'm endorsed by Pearl, Zildjian, Remo and Vic Firth.

I also built ACE Drum Production, my home drum recording course, and ran a stage session on home drum recording at Inner West Drum Fest.

I'm a working drummer and a parent, so I know what it's like to have limited time behind the kit, and these lessons are built around that.

Is this for you?

This is for you if

●  You already play and want to improve
●  You play heavy music, or want to
●  You want better home recordings
●  You want honest feedback

This isn't for you if

●  You've never sat behind a drum kit
●  You want a rudiment drill program
●  You want to hear you're perfect
●  You're not willing to put in some hard work

Got a question before you book?

Where are lessons held?

Online over Google Meet, so you can play from wherever your kit is. I also record the video so you can watch it back later.

I'm not in Australia. Can I still book?

Yes, I'm in Sydney, but email me and we'll find a time that works for both of us.

I'm a beginner. Is this for me?

These lessons suit drummers who already play, but if you're just starting out, email me and I'll point you in the right direction.

Do I need a pro camera or mic setup?

No, a phone and decent internet are enough, but if we're working on recording, have your setup ready.

How can I get in touch?

Email acedrum@gmail.com or DM me on Instagram at @acedrum.

What do you want to fix?

Fills, beats, double kick, timing, or drum sound. Book a lesson and we'll fix it!
