I help metal, punk, hardcore, and rock drummers record killer sounding drums

Attention: Metal, Punk, Hardcore, and Rock Drummers

Learn a repeatable system for recording powerful and punchy sounding drums at home that will get you noticed and help you to:

WITHOUT difficult or confusing techniques, or expensive gear and software.

The ACE System: Assess, Capture, Enhance

Most drummers jump straight into recording and wonder why it doesn’t sound right. ACE Drum Production follows a logical order that changes that.

ASSESS your drumming, room, and gear so everything is set up for a great sound before you hit record.

CAPTURE your drums properly with whatever mics you have using simple, repeatable setups that actually work in real rooms.

ENHANCE your recordings using stock plugins so your drums sound punchy, powerful, and ready to share.

The drum sound you hear in my videos is recorded at home using this exact system.

Here's what you'll walk away with

A repeatable drum recording system you can use every time, whether you’re tracking demos, recording for a band, or creating content.

You’ll record clean, punchy drum tracks you’re proud to share. Whether that’s for social media content, band recordings, or session work.

Even if you plan to record in a pro studio in future, knowing how to dial in great drum sounds at home will seriously level up your skills and confidence.

You’ll walk into any session prepared, speak the same language as the engineer, and get better results in less time, saving you money and making sure you get the most out of the time you’re paying for.

I’ve spent many years in and out of professional studios, rehearsal rooms, recording live shows, and at home experimenting with different techniques, mics, gear, and mixes so that I can get a killer drum sound as quickly and easily as possible.

Here’s Why We’re Doing This…

Recording drums and getting good drum sounds is HARD – or so we’ve been led to believe…

There are so many ways to achieve a similar result, there is so much information out there, often conflicting, and there is no one correct way to do it which makes it nearly impossible to…

  • Know that you have a foundation for a solid drum sound
  • Record clean, punchy drum takes you’ll actually want to share
  • Bring your drum recordings to life without endless tweaking

It can be frustrating spending so much time and money on something you’re so passionate about without getting the results you hear in your head.

And that’s exactly what the ACE Drum Production system is all about…

Here’s How The ACE Drum Production System Works…

I’m going to show you my 3-step system to Assess, Capture, and Enhance your drum recordings.

Assess

Dial in the stuff that matters before you hit record.

  • Lock in your drumming so your recordings sound tight and pro
  • Adjust your room and tune your kit to get the best sound before hitting record
  • Choose gear that brings out the best in your playing without wasting money

Capture

Get clean, usable takes with minimal gear and stress.

  • Set yourself up for a balanced, mix-ready sound with minimal gear
  • Get the right settings for clarity and power, so nothing clips or gets lost
  • Nail confident drum takes faster with less frustration and wasted time

Enhance

Make it punch. Keep it real.

  • Keep your mix simple with natural drum sounds
  • Make your drums hit harder without overprocessing
  • Export polished tracks ready for release, collabs, or content creation

I’ll also cover:

  • My go-to gear recommendations (on a real-world budget)
  • Cheat sheets, checklists, and templates to keep things simple
  • Avoiding common mistakes and solving problems fast

So are you ready to say goodbye to not knowing what to focus on, buying the latest new plugins or gear, or going round in circles chasing great sounding drum recordings?

Would you like to learn how to take what you already have and turn it into killer sounding drum tracks and skills you can take with you for the rest of your life?

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes! You can follow this exact process no matter how many mics you use to record your drums. Just apply the same steps to each mic, using my settings as a starting point and tweaking as needed to suit your tracks.

Definitely not. This course is built around getting pro-sounding drums with a simple, affordable setup at home or anywhere you can make some noise. You’ll learn how to make the most of whatever gear you already own, even if it’s just a couple of mics and free plugins.

Totally fine, this course isn’t for gearheads. If you can plug in a mic and open your recording software, you’re good. The same principles apply no matter what gear or software you have, I’ll walk you through exactly what to do step-by-step, using whatever gear you already have.

Nope! I use Logic in my demos, but the techniques and principles apply no matter what DAW you’re using, Reaper, Studio One, Ableton, Cubase, even GarageBand. It’s about getting great results with the tools you already have.

Not at all. I made it with heavy drummers in mind (metal, punk, hardcore, etc.) as I mostly play music in those genres, but the system works for any genre where you want punchy, energetic drum recordings.

You don’t need to be a pro engineer, if you’re comfortable setting up your kit and know how to play, you’re good to go. I’ll walk you through the rest step by step.

If you’ve got any other questions at all, email me at adrian@acedrum.com, or message me on Instagram @acedrum I love hearing from fellow drummers!

Not sure, don't have all the gear, or not ready yet?
